Planning for Your Surgery

Facing the need for surgery is never an easy task. You may have options as to the type of surgical procedure you undergo. There may be minimally invasive options available or which have become the standard of care for many diseases or disorders such as benign and malignant intestinal or colon diseases, symptomatic calculous biliary disease (gallstones), parathyroid disease, and benign breast disease.

In addition, sentinel lymph node biopsy done at the time of surgery for malignant breast disease and melanoma has now replaced more comprehensive lymph node dissections for disease staging. Dr. Yelverton will guide you through the process of selecting the most appropriate operation and approach based upon your particular needs and limitations.
